Allison asked, I charge my smartphone battery but it doesn’t last as long as it used to. Can you help?

There are two key things to consider: battery capacity and battery usage.

To preserve the capacity, or life of your rechargeable battery avoid exposing your smartphone to temperatures higher than 95 degrees. High temperatures can damage the batteries’ ability to hold charge. Avoid laying it in direct sunlight or leaving it in a hot car.

Also, if you smartphone gets hot when charging, you may need to remove the case first. Some cases hold in excess heat, which can harm the battery & its charging capacity.

Next week we’ll look at tips for conserving battery usage.
