Scam emails are getting more sophisticated and harder to detect.  How do you know what is real?

I received this official looking email from Apple saying that my ID had been disabled and that I needed to reset my password.  Sounds reasonable, but is the email really from Apple?  Here’s how to find out.

Open the message and look at the full email address.  If you don’t recognize the domain name it’s likely a scam.  This message clearly came from an unidentifiable source.  Other clues include misspellings, poor grammar and the change password link does not go to

Never reset passwords or provide personal information unless you have confirmed the source.
