Facebook just released a new messenger app for kids under the age of 13 to talk to their parents, and parent approved friends. It’s a separate app and doesn’t require a Facebook account.
Parents with Facebook accounts approve every new contact their kids adds to the app, and they have the ability to block already-approved contacts from being shown to their kids.
Kids can send text or photo messages with fun animated stickers. Kids get their freedom while parents can help keep their children stay safe online.
While Facebook provides the app for free, it does disclose that the child’s app activity is collected and used. Messenger Kids is currently available for iOS.
