Mike sent in: My home Internet connection is unstable. What can I do?
To Troubleshoot, First, turn off the power to your DSL or Cable modem, which brings the Internet connection into your home. Next, power down your wifi router and wait a few seconds.
Then, turn your modem back on and wait for the lights to come on. Most routers have a solid green, amber or white Internet light to show a stable connection. If the light is red or off, check to make sure the cables are securely connected. If this doesn’t work, call your service provider.
If you do get a solid connection light, then power on your wifi router.
Rebooting your system in this order solves many common connection issues.
